Kickstarter — Launching 2026

Your battery starts failing long before it catches fire.

Preion detects invisible warning signs — gas release, heat anomalies, and environmental changes — before smoke, flames, or thermal runaway begin.

The Core Idea

Smoke is a late-stage warning.

Most fire detectors react to what you can already see. Preion is built to identify danger earlier — by monitoring the invisible chemical and thermal changes that happen inside a failing battery long before visible smoke appears.

Technology

Early detection of lithium battery failures

Preion combines hardware, AI, and cloud connectivity to identify failure precursors that traditional smoke and heat detectors miss entirely.

Hydrogen & VOC detection

Dedicated sensors continuously scan for hydrogen and volatile organic compound signatures released during the earliest stage of cell failure — long before smoke or flame.

Multi-sensor AI analysis

Our model fuses hydrogen, VOC, humidity, and thermal data in real time to distinguish normal off-gassing from a genuine thermal runaway precursor.

Rapid heat-rise detection

Onboard thermal sensors track temperature gradients and rate-of-rise so that abnormal heating patterns trigger an alert minutes before a critical event.

Cloud-connected alerts

Detected anomalies are escalated through push notifications, SMS, and automated voice calls — so the right person is reached, day or night.

Redundant connectivity

Dual Wi-Fi and a built-in IoT SIM keep the device online and reporting even if your home network goes down.

Live mobile dashboard

Check device status, sensor readings, and alert history for every Preion unit from a single intuitive mobile app.

How It Works

Four steps. One quiet device watching your batteries.

Preion sits near where your batteries charge and operate. From there, it does the work in the background.

  1. Step 01

    Monitor

Preion continuously monitors the environment around charging lithium batteries — gas composition, temperature, and humidity.

  2. Step 02

    Detect

The system watches for early gas release, rapid temperature rise, and abnormal environmental patterns associated with cell failure.

  3. Step 03

    Analyze

Our AI evaluates the combined sensor pattern in real time to identify whether the readings indicate a genuine battery failure precursor.

  4. Step 04

    Alert

You receive immediate, escalating alerts — before smoke or fire may occur — so you can act while there is still time.

Built for everyday batteries

Designed for modern battery homes

E-bikes, scooters, power tools, home batteries, and portable power stations are becoming part of everyday life. Preion was designed for the places where these batteries charge, rest, and operate.

Alerting

Multi-layer alerts when seconds matter

When a precursor event is detected, Preion does not rely on a single notification channel. Alerts escalate automatically until they are acknowledged.

01

Push notifications

Instant in-app push to every paired phone.

02

SMS text messages

Sent to all registered numbers for redundancy.

03

Automated voice calls

Phone-call escalation if alerts go unacknowledged.

04

Cloud monitoring

Continuous device health & event logging in the cloud.

Why this matters now

Lithium batteries are everywhere.

E-bikes, scooters, power stations, tools, and home energy storage systems are rapidly becoming part of daily life. As battery density increases, early detection becomes increasingly important.

Built & tested in Hungary

Engineered by a team focused on battery safety

Designed and developed in Hungary by a small, focused team working on next-generation lithium battery safety — combining hardware engineering, embedded systems, and applied AI.

Honest by design

Not a smoke detector replacement.

Preion is designed as an additional early-warning layer specifically for lithium battery failures. Keep your smoke detectors — Preion is built to alert you before they ever need to.

Applications

Versatile protection across industries

From a single garage to gigawatt-scale storage — the same monitoring principles, scaled to your environment.
